BGSU Bassoon StudioDr. Nathaniel Zeisler is currently the assistant professor of bassoon at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Dr. Zeisler earned his doctorate of musical arts and master’s degree from the University of Michigan and bachelor’s degree in choral and instrumental education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2004, Professor Zeisler founded the Envision Chamber Consort; an organization dedicated to presenting music as a form of contemporary communication and in January of 2007 assumed the Executive Directorship of the American Russian Young Artists Orchestra in New York City. Dr. Zeisler has worked in the public schools teaching elementary general music in Norfolk, Virginia, and has served on the faculty of both Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and the Interlochen Arts Academy. Professionally, Dr. Zeisler has participated in numerous summer festivals including three summer tours of Europe with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, the Bay View Music Festival in Michigan, Bowdoin Summer Music Festival in Maine a summer tour of the United States and Russia with the American Russian Youth Orchestra. Most recently, Professor Zeisler traveled to Russia and Finland with the Amirus Chamber Players in an extensive chamber music tour. Dr. Zeisler’s past teachers include Daniel Matsukawa, Katherine Oliver, Steven Wilson, Richard Beene and Jeffrey Lyman. ![]() |
